Since then he has started eight businesses in industries ranging from Insurtech, EdTech, Future of Work, Food, and Coaching and Consulting. All of these operating experiences has allowed Mackey to see consistencies that most small but growing companies need.

Ann is the Founder and Principal of Bramble and Bird Consulting, offering fractional leadership and custom projects in strategy, operations, team building, and professional development to early stage startups and growing nonprofits.
Before founding Bramble, Ann led Scaling Operations at Coterie Insurance. She was Co-Founder and Chief Operating Officer of Trupo, a benefits platform for gig workers, and she was Chief Operating Officer of Freelancers Union and Freelancers Insurance Company for over a decade.
Ann lives in Brooklyn, NY where she can be found playing fetch in the park, baking sweets and advocating for people with invisible disabilities and learning differences.
